Scout Programs I'm interested in programs for: Girl Scouts Cub Scouts We offer a variety of programs for scouts that fulfill many of the requirements for badge and award completion. Programs for Individuals & Families Children, youth, and families participate in songs, stories, crafts, explorations, and/or adventures through classes that offer hands-on fun and discovery! Each season has something new to offer along with ever-popular programs. Programs are published through the quarterly Wheaton Park District program guide. Walk Your Dog We welcome dogs and their human companions at Lincoln Marsh! Lincoln Marsh is a great place to take a walk with your dog. While we encourage people and their four-legged companions to walk on our trails, the Wheaton Park District has set guidelines for those visiting Lincoln Marsh with their dogs. This protects the natural area, its inhabitants, and visitors. Wheaton Park District and Wheaton City Ordinances require that dogs be leashed at all times. This is important for a variety of reasons including the protection of your dog. When your dog is off its leash, it may… • Wander off the trails into sensitive habitat in our natural area. • Become injured if it roams through plants that have thorns, burrs, or other unseen hazards. • Be exposed to more ticks. • Happen upon another dog or wildlife that may not welcome the close encounter. Amenities & Trail Map The Lincoln Marsh trail system is comprised of woodchip, limestone, and boardwalk trails that connect with the Illinois Prairie Path and offers a number of amenities. View the Trailmap (PDF) Limestone trails are accessible to wheelchairs, bicycles, and strollers. Bicycles are not permitted on the woodchip trails. There is a small accessible trail loop around a prairie planting near the east end of the park that is perfect for the tiniest hikers! Amenities Floating Boardwalks & Bird Blinds Floating boardwalks with bird blinds are located in our two main open water marsh areas. Overlooks Get a higher view of the marsh from our two overlooks off of the Illinois Prairie Path. Benches Rustic benches made from trees that have fallen at Lincoln Marsh can be found scattered along the trails.
